Title Bullet Measure CL - You May Qualify for a Parcel Tax Exemption Deadline to Apply: June 30, 2017
On November 6, 2012, Los Angeles County voters in the Lawndale, Hawthorne, Wiseburn, Lennox and Centinela Valley school districts approved Measure CL, a Local Classrooms Funding Authority parcel tax intended to generate approximately $11 million per year. Residents who own a single family house or condominium in Lawndale may be eligible for a Measure CL tax exemption if you fall into the category of a senior citizen over age 65 or if you qualify for a disability exemption. The deadline to file for an exemption is June 30 of each year. However, you do not have to reapply each year once you begin receiving the exemption. Exemption applications are available at each elementary school district office, Lawndale City Hall, Lawndale Community Center, Lawndale Library, Wiseburn Library and Lennox Senior Center. Additional information on Measure CL and the exemptions can be found at the following web site: http://lcfaparceltax.org. The Measure CL Parcel Tax is not administered by the City of Lawndale and questions and applications should be directed to the Local Classrooms Funding Authority (800-676-7516). A copy of the current form is linked to the heading. Click here for a link to the current Citizens' Oversight Committee Agenda for Measure CL.
